General Questions About All DABBLE STUDIO and NASHVILLE FOOD ADVENTURES Events

When does the new schedule of upcoming events come out?
The calendar for the upcoming month is generally posted by the 20th of each month.

Can I reserve seats for my friends so we can sit together?
Our seats are first-come, first-serve. We open our doors for seating 30 minutes before an event so you have time to choose! If you are coming with a large group, we recommend arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the event.

Do you have a waiting list for sold out classes?
We sometimes add capacity or have cancellations. If an event you’d like to attend is sold out, you can join a waiting list by sending an email to info@DabbleStudio.com with the event name, date and time, your name and contact information, and the number of people in your party. We’ll let you know if something opens up!

What time should I arrive?
We open our doors 30 minutes before an event starts, so come with a friend, or make some new friends, and choose your seats. All classes and tours begin promptly on time.

What type of beverage can I bring along?
You can bring any type of beverage that you like to our studio or on our tours! (Some events will include a beverage – This will be noted in the class description. Events held at restaurants, breweries, or bars are often not BYOB, but drinks are available for purchase there.) You must be 21 or older to drink alcoholic beverages. At check-in, we will ask to see the ID of anyone who will be drinking alcohol. Regardless of your age, please bring your ID and be prepared to show your ID at check-in. We reserve the right to ask any person exhibiting signs of intoxication to leave the studio, without a refund.

Do you offer wine or beer for sale at the studio?
Yes! We have our liquor license, and we sell moscato wine by the glass and a small selection of wines by the bottle, Stella Artois beer, soft drinks, and bottled water at most of our classes. If you intend to purchase or drink an alcoholic beverage, please bring your ID, regardless of your age.

Do you have bottle openers for wine and beer?
We sure do!

Do you have glasses and ice for our beverages?
Yes, we have wine glasses, ice, AND ice buckets available for your use.

Refunds and Cancellations

Your card is charged at the time that you book your event.

If a cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to the class, the customer will be given the choice between receiving a full refund, or a raincheck to attend a different class within the next 30 days.

If a cancellation is made within 7 days prior to the class, up to 24 hours before the class for painting and combination classes and 48 hours before cooking classes, the customer will be issued a raincheck to attend a different class within the next 30 days.

If a cancellation is made within 24 hours prior to the painting class or 48 hours prior to a cooking or combination class, or if the customer is a “no show/no call” (i.e., the customer does not attend the scheduled class and does not provide notice of cancellation 24 hours (for painting) or 48 hours (for cooking) or more prior to the class), NO REFUND OR RAINCHECK WILL BE ISSUED.

What happens if the weather is bad on the night of my event?
In the event we decide to close the studio or cancel the event due to inclement weather, we will notify class participants via email. If we cancel due to inclement weather, you will receive a rain check / reschedule code to register for a different class of the same type within the next 30 days.

Cancellation Policy for Groupon, Living Social Deals and Other Voucher / Coupon Providers
In the case of a customer who has used a Groupon, Living Social, or other voucher or coupon to book a class, if a cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to the class, a replacement voucher will be issued for the same value/number of classes, with the same deal expiration date but no cash value. The Groupon, Living Social, or other voucher / coupon will have been redeemed.

In the case of a customer who has used a Groupon, Living Social, or other voucher or coupon to book a class, if a cancellation is made within 7 days prior to the class, up to 24 hours before the class, the customer will be issued a raincheck/reschedule code for the same value/number of classes, to be used within the next 30 days. The Goupon, Living Social, or other voucher / coupon will have been redeemed.

In the case of a customer who has used a Groupon, Living Social, or other voucher or coupon to book a class, if a cancellation is made within 24 hours prior to the class, or if the customer is a “no show/no call” (i.e., the customer does not attend the scheduled class and does not provide notice of cancellation 24 hours or more prior to the class), a cancellation penalty will be charged equal to the value of the Groupon, Living Social, or other voucher / coupon, and NO REFUND OR RAINCHECK WILL BE ISSUED. The Groupon, Living Social, or other voucher / coupon will have been redeemed.

Is there an age requirement to attend a DABBLE STUDIO Class?
Yes. Here are our age requirements for our different types of classes:

Policy for Children’s Attendance at Dabble Classes

Painting Only:
Children age 12 and up may attend daytime or evening painting classes, when accompanied by a registered painting adult, EXCEPT for Friday and Saturday evening classes, when the minimum age for attendance is 18. 

Children age 5-11 are welcome at daytime painting-only classes based on the following requirements:

For children age 5-7 at daytime classes, we require a NON-painting (and also NON- paying) adult to remain present at the daytime class to be a dedicated assistant for that younger child.

For children age 8-11 at daytime classes, we require an adult to be present. If the accompanying adult would like to paint, please register and pay for both child and adult. Non-painting adults may attend with their child of this age group at no cost.

For all of the age groups above, please register only those individuals who will actually be painting at the class.

Combination Paint-and-Cook Classes:
Youths must be 16 years old or older to attend any combination paint-and-cook class,EXCEPT for Friday and Saturday evening classes, when the minimum age for attendance is 18.

Cooking Classes:
Youths must be 16 years or older to attend any cooking-only class, EXCEPT for Friday and Saturday evening classes, when the minimum age for attendance is 18. Also note that attendees must be 21 years of age or older to attend a Cooking Class that includes or features an alcoholic beverage in the class description.

The minimum age for attendance at ANY TYPE OF CLASS at Dabble Studio on a Friday or Saturday evening is 18.

In order to bring and enjoy an alcoholic beverage, you must of course be 21 years of age or older. At check-in, we ask to see the ID of anyone who will be drinking alcohol. Regardless of your age, please bring your ID and be prepared to show it at check-in. We reserve the right to ask any person exhibiting signs of intoxication to leave the studio, without a refund.

Questions About Painting Classes

Is there an age requirement to attend a DABBLE STUDIO Painting Class?
Yes. Please see our age requirements in the section above.

Do you have Painting Classes for children at DABBLE STUDIO?
We welcome children at our daytime painting-only classes given certain guidelines of parental assistance. Please see our complete policy on children’s attendance at Dabble classes above in the FAQs. We also sometimes offer family-friendly painting classes more geared to include children.

What should I wear to a Painting Class?
We supply aprons. We recommend wearing clothes that you won’t mind getting paint on! Acrylic paint is not likely to come out of clothing.

Do I need to bring my own supplies to a Painting Class?
We supply paint, brushes, easels, aprons and canvas. If you choose, you may bring your own brushes and canvas, but the price for the class remains the same.

May I bring a non-painting guest to class to watch me while I paint?
No. This an interactive event, with reserved seating; therefore, we ask that you do not bring an observer unless you have a paid reservation for them.

Do I get to take my painting home at the end of night?
YES! Your work of art is yours to own!

Will the paint be dry when I leave?
Our paint is fast-drying acrylic that should be dry by the time you leave. We have dryers to use for any damp areas as well!

Can I come with a group or plan a Private Painting Class?
Of course!! Dabble is the perfect space for a group! Painting Classes as well as Cooking Classes are also available as Private Events at Dabble. Questions About Cooking Classes

Is there an age requirement to attend a DABBLE STUDIO Cooking Class?
Yes. Please see our complete Policy for Children’s Attendance at Dabble Classes above in the FAQs. Also note that attendees must be 21 years of age or older to attend a Cooking Class that includes or features an alcoholic beverage in the class description. At check-in, we check the ID of anyone who intends to drink alcohol, regardless of age. If you plan to drink alcohol, please plan to bring your ID and be prepared to show it at check-in, regardless of your age. We reserve the right to ask any person exhibiting signs of intoxication to leave the studio, without a refund.

What exactly is “Recreational Cooking”?
Our classes are meant for the home cook and non-cook alike. As long as you enjoy food and are interested in the art of cooking and entertaining, we know you’ll leave happy and full! Our classes are recreational in the sense that we want DABBLE to be a place that is fun, full of enjoyment and without intimidation. Our classes will educate but also serve as a reminder of how much fun preparing a meal and enjoying it with others can be.

What if I can’t cook?
At Dabble, we want everyone to see how fun and exciting cooking can truly be! We strive to make all classes interesting for all levels of chefs. Our classes range from educational to participative. The class description will provide information about what to expect.

How much does a Cooking Class at Dabble cost?
The cost of our classes varies depending on a variety of factors. Wine and Cheese pairings and shorter classes are as little as $45 per person, while a four-course-meal class can run between $55 and $65 per person for demonstration classes up to $100 for fully hands-on classes. The price differences are due to a range of factors, from complexity of the menu, to price of ingredients used to what may be included for you to take home. Simply click on a class to see a description as well as pricing information.

How long will my Cooking Class last?
Classes range from 2-4 hours, with most classes lasting 3 hours. Length of class can be found within its description.

How many students will be in my class?
We try to keep our classes relatively small, especially when they are participative, to ensure adequate attention for each aspiring foodie! Classes typically range from 12 participants to 16.

What do I need to bring to a Cooking Class at Dabble?
A love for food, taste for excitement and an empty stomach! We provide all of the cooking ingredients, utensils, equipment, and supplies needed. We also provide wine glasses, ice buckets, and wine openers. You may bring a bottle of wine or beverage of your choice! (Some events will include a beverage – This will be noted in the class description.) You must be 21 or older to drink alcoholic beverages. At check-in, we will ask to see the ID of anyone who will be drinking alcohol, regardless of age. Regardless of your age, please bring your ID and be prepared to show it at check-in. We reserve the right to ask any person exhibiting signs of intoxication to leave the studio, without a refund.

How messy are the Cooking Classes?
We want everyone to engage in the class to whatever degree makes you most comfortable. Within the description, you can find if your class is more participative or more educational. If you want to get your hands dirty, sign up for a participative class!

Can I come with a group or plan a Private Cooking Class?
Of course!! Dabble is the perfect space for a group! Cooking Classes as well as Painting Classes are also available as Private Events at Dabble. Whether it be a corporate event, bachelorette party or family reunion group, we would be thrilled to work with you to plan a Private Cooking Class, or even an individualized dinner party! Questions About Nashville Food Adventures Food Tours

The calendar for the upcoming month is generally posted by the 15th of each month.

Do I need to reserve a spot on the Food Tour ahead of time?
Yes. Because we arrange with the restaurants on each tour to have the proper amount of food for the size of the tour, tickets must be purchased a minimum of 24 hours before the Food Tour.

How many people will a Food Tour accommodate?
Tours accommodate a maximum of 13 people, although the number of participants will vary. Private tours can be arranged for larger numbers of people, up to 150!

How much walking do Food Tours require?
The amount of walking varies by the tour chosen. Please see tour descriptions for an estimate of the amount of walking required.

Do you have a waiting list for sold out tours?
We sometimes add capacity or have cancellations. If a tour you’d like to attend is sold out, you can join a waiting list by sending an email to info@DabbleStudio.com with the event name, date and time, your name and contact information, and the number of people in your party. We’ll let you know if something opens up!

What time should I arrive?
Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the Food Tour start time. The van leaves promptly at the tour start time for all tours.

What is included in the Food Tour?
Transportation, tour guide services, and food from all tour stops are included in the price. Water is served at all tour stops. Unless it is a featured item on the tour, beverages are not included. Any additional food or drink items you order at tour stops are not included in the tour price. You may not bring your own beverages into a restaurant or food stop, though you are welcome to bring beverages with a lid onto the tour van.

Is there an age requirement to attend a Nashville Food Adventures Food Tour?
Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the Food Tour. You must be 14 years old or older to register for and attend a Food Tour. In order to enjoy an alcoholic beverage at any tour stop, you must of course be 21 years of age or older. You must be 21 years old or older to attend a Food Tour that includes or features alcoholic beverages in the tour description. We will check the ID of anyone who intends to drink alcohol on a food tour, regardless of age. If you plan to drink alcohol, please bring your ID and be prepared to show it at check-in, regardless of your age. We reserve the right to ask any person exhibiting signs of intoxication to leave the tour, without a refund.

Where do tours start and end?
UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED, all Nashville Food Adventures Food Tours begin and end at Dabble Studio, 330 Harrison Street, Nashville 37219. (Downtown Nashville, adjacent to First Tennessee Park, near Bicentennial Mall.) (NOTE: If you are using a GPS system to map your route to our studio, please be sure to enter zip code 37219, as, oddly, there are two 330 Harrison Street addresses in Nashville.) Plentiful parking is available in the area.

Who will enjoy a Nashville Food Adventures Food Tour?
Tourists AND Nashville residents will enjoy a Nashville Food Adventures Food Tour! Tourists will get a taste of what Nashville’s exploding food scene has to offer, and Nashville residents will discover new favorite places and learn more about the food, people, and places in our town. If you’re a foodie, an aspiring foodie, or just looking for something fun and different to do, you’ll love our tours!

Are photos allowed on Food Tours?
Certainly! In fact, we would love for you to share your favorite tour photos on our Facebook page, or via Instagram or Yelp!

Are bathroom facilities available during tours?
Bathroom facilities are available at most restaurants on tour, although bathrooms are less available on food truck tours.

Do the tours accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary requirements?
Generally, no. Food Tours are, after all, a food adventure, so dietary restrictions often cannot be accommodated. Guests with food sensitivities or allergies should exercise caution before booking a Food Tour. Some tour stops are more flexible than others for those with dietary requirements and there is no guarantee that substitutions will be available.

Are gratuities accepted by the Food Tour guide?
Yes! Gratuities are welcome and appreciated on public tours, at the discretion of participants. (Gratuities are added to private tours at booking.) We also welcome and appreciate your reviews and feedback on TripAdvisor, Yelp, Google or Facebook!

What happens if the weather is bad at the time of the Nashville Food Adventures tour for which I am registered?
Typically, tours happen in all weather. In the rare event that we need to cancel a tour due to severe, unsafe weather, we will notify tour participants via email. If we cancel a tour due to severe weather, you will receive a rain check/reschedule code to register for another tour within the next 30 days.

Questions About Private Events

What kinds of events do you host at DABBLE STUDIO?
Our events are perfect for:

What day can I host a Private Event?
We offer Private Events 7 days a week! (Subject to studio availability.) We offer daytime or evening events.

How do I reserve my Private Event?
Complete our “Schedule a Private Event” information form or email info@dabblestudio.com to start planning a memorable event just for you. A deposit on a credit card, equal to the cost of the first 10-15 participants, reserves your date and time. The deposit payment is processed at the time of reservation and final attendance number and total payment balance will be due 48 hours prior to the start of your Private Event.

Can I use my Groupon, Living Social, etc. as part of a Private Event?
Due to the extreme discount you may NOT use a Groupon, Living Social, etc. to reserve a Private Event, Fundraising Event, or Special Event.

How far in advance do I need to schedule my Private Event?
We typically finalize our class schedule on the 15th of the prior month. Booking prior to this date will give you the best choice of event dates and times. To ensure availability, we recommend booking as soon as you have your date in mind. While more notice is always better, based on studio and staff availability, we can sometimes accommodate last-minute bookings for private events.

What is your cancellation policy for Private Events?
There is a 14-day notice required for cancellation. Your deposit is non-refundable if less than a 14-day notice of cancellation is given. For dates between December 1 and January 5, your deposit is nonrefundable without at least 30 days notice prior to your event.

How do Fundraising Events at DABBLE STUDIO work?
Being a community-focused business, DABBLE STUDIO offers a fun and creative way to raise money for your favorite non-profit charity or cause. DABBLE STUDIO will donate $10.00 for every full-price paid painter or cook at your fundraising event to your charity or cause. it’s that easy. (Those using vouchers like Living Social, Groupon, etc. are not considered full-price customers and we do NOT donate on Vouchers.)
